North Fork Beaches

The North Fork of Long Island is bound by tens of miles of fine, white sand beaches all along the sound, the ocean and the bay. It is surrounded by cliff-side bluffs, hidden sand dunes and spotted with classic lighthouses. The North Fork is recognized around the globe for having some of some the world's absolutely finest beaches. Beach goers will find serenity at the Long Island Sound. The waves are small and the undertow is light, though the beach itself is large, bold and pretty. Visitors to the Greenport-Southold area have easy access to small community beaches in coves and hidden inlets accessible by road or by boat. There is an active boating community and convenient access to a number of state-operated parks. Where the Long Island Sound ends, the ocean waves are calm and the water is ideal for swimming. Greenport Village has a lot to offer in the way of entertainment, especially in summer months. There are fabulous affordable hotels, many seaport attractions and a lot of fun and fabulous nightlife hotspots. For smaller, quieter groups, there are a number of state parks and small community beaches for family activities or quiet outdoor hobbies, like sketching or bird-watching.

This page provides information about beaches located in the Town of NorthFork. Some of these locations are Town-Run Beaches, while others are NYS Parks - please be sure to check each listing for details before visiting hitting the waves!
