Babylon Beaches

Babylon is one of ten towns in Suffolk. It features four main beautiful, beaches: Captree State Park, Cedar Beach, Gilgo State Park, and Robert Moses State Park. The beach at Captree State Park features scenic overlooks, and is a favorite place for families and individuals who like to fish. This marina is also alive with watersports and activities such as sailing, kayaking and scuba-diving. The beach is open daily throughout the year until 10pm. Cedar Beach has a span of about three-quarters of a mile, making it a sort of intimate beach hotspot, though it is popular with surfers, fishers, boaters and campers. It is also home to a fun, seasonal, weekly lobster festival. The beach is only open during summer months, from May to September. The beach at Gilgo State Park has a natural and genuine atmosphere because the park itself is still under development. The beach allows for swimming, wildlife viewing, fishing, surf fishing and more! It proudly touts being the natural habitat of the piping plover and sea beach amaranth, endangered birds that live in solace at the park. Robert Moses State Park on Fire Island boasts a five-mile stretch of beautiful coastline, with swimming and surfing activities year round, and playgrounds and picnic areas available for families.
