Theodore Roosevelt County Park


This park offers visitors outer beach access and camping for self contained campers only (no tents), seasonal hunting, fresh and saltwater fishing, and canoeing and kayaking. Horseback riding is available through Deep Hollow Ranch. Nature trails run through the park and biking on the trails is permitted.

Theodore Roosevelt County Park is the site of the historic Third House which originated as a home for cattle keepers in seventeenth century Montauk and. It also served as headquarters for Camp Wikoff, where 28,000 Spanish-American War soldiers suffering illness with contagious diseases were quarantined in 1898 along with Teddy Roosevelt and the Rough Riders. The park is now known as Montauk County Park.
